Royal T Shipyards has delivered the next vessel in the 5050-DWT Salmo series, the MV Sueve, to shipowner Navinorte/G. Junquera Marítima. The handover took place in the Netherlands on 4 September, after which the vessel left for Port of El Musel, Gijón, Spain for its christening.
The MV Sueve reflects advanced shipbuilding and modern propulsion technology. Equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system and a smart automation system for readout and voyage analysis, the vessel is designed for excellent manoeuvrability and significantly reduced fuel consumption, directly contributing to lower emissions and more efficient operations.

Traditional christening
The christening of MV Sueve took place in the Port of El Musel, Gijón-Spain, with the vessel’s godmother carrying out the naming tradition. The event was attended by representatives of Navinorte/G. Junquera Marítima, Royal T Shipyards, Alta Shipbokers, Friday&Co Shipbrokers, family, and partners from across the maritime industry.

Proven capabilities at sea
Measuring 87.30 metres in length, 13.70 metres in beam, and 6.30 metres in draught, MV Sueve has already demonstrated good performance during its recent sea trials in the North Sea. The vessel is equipped with a single box-shaped cargo hold of 5915 m3, measuring 65.40 x 11.24 x 8.46 metres, offering efficient cargo flexibility.
During trials, MV Sueve proved exceptional in manoeuvrability and showcased low fuel consumption figures. Combined with its diesel-electric propulsion and onboard automation for detailed voyage monitoring, the vessel confirms the operational efficiency of the Salmo series.
Royal T delivered the first Salmo vessel in February 2025 to Transtal Shipping.
