ForestWave will join the Spliethoff Group as its seventh business unit per 30 September. With this expansion, the number of vessels commercially operated by the Spliethoff Group grows to a combined fleet of over 140 vessels.

Spliethoff becomes the majority shareholder of ForestWave. Management of the latter remains unchanged and it will retain its brand name, identity and operational independence. ForestWave gains access to Spiethoff’s resources, while both companies can utilise the tonnage of the combined fleet of 147 vessels in total.

Group members Spliethoff and Sevenstar Yacht Transport and ForestWave have been successfully and closely working together for quite some time in the sea transportation of mainly bulk cargoes and yachts. This cooperation will now be intensified under the umbrella of the Spliethoff Group.

Synergy and new opportunities

On behalf of the management of Spliethoff Group Messrs Bras and Van den Heuvel emphasise the importance of this step: ‘After so many years of constructive and pleasant cooperation with ForestWave, formalising this cooperation is a logical step. The takeover of ForestWave will provide synergy and enable us to offer our clients an even broader scope of logistic solutions.’

Fred Diepeveen, managing director of ForestWave adds: ‘This strategic alliance with the Spliethoff Group enables us to realise our full potential. We maintain our identity and independent operations, while we benefit from new opportunities. Together we will be able to serve our clients and colleagues even better.’
