Wagenborg is upgrading its walk-to-work (W2W) vessel Kingsborg. The vessel returned to the Niestern Sander Shipyard for the installation of an A-type Ampelmann gangway, further enhancing its capabilities in the offshore energy sector, particularly in the Southern North Sea.

The installation of the Ampelmann gangway is a strategic move by Wagenborg to strengthen its position in the highly competitive walk-to-work market. This advanced gangway system offers several advantages, including:

  • Improved safety during personnel transfer.
  • Increased operational efficiency.
  • Enhanced accessibility to offshore structures.
  • Reduced costs associated with downtime and delays.

With the Ampelmann gangway, Kingsborg can provide a safer and more efficient means of transferring personnel to and from offshore installations, even in challenging weather conditions. These technical improvements not only enhance the safety and efficiency of personnel transfer, but also contribute to the overall performance of the Kingsborg.
