Royal Wagenborg has purchased an ASD 3280 Tug, which will be available shortly. The tugboat will be renamed Waterland and will be deployed in the Eemshaven, the Netherlands.

Together with its sister ship Waterlines, the Waterland with its 80-tonne bollard pull is the largest tugboat in the fleet of Wagenborg Towage, which now consists of ten tugs.

The new acquisition was built in 2020 by the Uzmar Shipyard in Turkey. The ASD 3280 Tug – a Robert Allen design – is very manoeuvrable and has a high performance with a modern design. Thanks to its operational flexibility, the tugboat can be used for port and terminal towage operations, escort operations, firefighting operations, coastal and offshore towage operations.

The Waterland is expected to arrive in Eemshaven early this summer.
