Vattenfall has granted Subsea 7 a contract for the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) 1-4 offshore wind farm project. Its subsidiary Seaway 7 will deploy heavy lift, cable lay and support vessels to transport and install approximately 140 wind turbine monopile foundations and 315 kilometres of 66-kilovolt inner array grid cables.
The planned award of the contract was announced on 23 April, but was subject to the client’s final investment decision, which has now occurred. The contract value is said to be between 150 and 300 million US dollars.
The Hollandse Kust (Zuid) Wind Farm Zone (HKZWFZ) lies off the west coast of the Netherlands, in the coastal waters of the province of Zuid-Holland (South Holland). This wind farm zone has four sites.
