COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore has contracted Huisman for two Leg Encircling Cranes as well as two Auxiliary Cranes. The cranes are meant for Cadeler’s next-generation T-Class offshore wind installation vessels.

Featuring an improved load curve, these Leg Encircling Cranes are specifically designed to enhance the vessels’ lifting capabilities and operational flexibility. This supports the installation of increasingly complex offshore wind projects.

The auxiliary cranes will support a broad range of lifting and handling activities, contributing to safe, efficient and productive offshore operations.

Manufactured at Huisman‘s production facility in Zhangzhou, China, the cranes will be installed on board Cadeler’s new vessels being built by COSCO in Qidong. The next-generation T-class vessels are designed to support the continued growth of the offshore wind industry, offering the capability and capacity required to install larger foundations and turbines.

David Roodenburg, CEO at Huisman: ‘We greatly value the continued trust Cadeler places in Huisman’s crane delivery capabilities and are pleased to support their ambitious growth journey. These next-generation cranes are designed to safely and reliably lift and install the largest monopiles, supporting predictable and efficient offshore wind installation operations.’
