Last week, Damen Yachting reported that the 120-metre Amels Full Custom, Project Tanzanite, officially commenced sea trials. The news is followed by the sale of another Amels 80 Limited Editions, which is a proven platform that will be customised for the owner.
The 120-metre Amels Full Custom, originally arrived in the Netherlands in June 2023 having been launched at the Dutch shipyard’s hull building facility in Galati, Romania. This impressive superyacht, both in terms of design and size at 6083 GT, was recently floated inside the dock and the sea trial marks a key milestone for this full custom project as the yacht will now enter its final stage of outfitting at the Amels main shipyard facilities in Vlissingen City. Delivery is scheduled for 2026.
Deeside Maritime has closely managed the build and construction of Project Tanzanite over the past two years and will continue to play a key role throughout this final phase. Project Tanzanite is an Amels Full Custom with exterior design by Espen Øino. As is customary with Full Custom builds, all final details regarding yacht features and information regarding its interiors remain confidential.

Amels 80 sold
Damen has also sold the next Amels 80, currently in build and scheduled for delivery in spring 2028. Sold in collaboration with Burgess, this Amels 80 will feature an exterior design by Espen Øino and a bespoke, innovative interior by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design.

The hull is in build at Damen Yachting‘s build facility in Galati. Following its launch, it will begin its first journey towards the Netherlands, where final outfitting will take place at Damen Yachting’s Vlissingen City shipyard. This site, home to both newbuild and refit projects, forms the heart of Damen Yachting’s extensive superyacht operations.
Damen started construction of the Amels 80 on spec. As such, the yacht is based on a proven platform, but also offers a significant level of customisation and a reduced delivery time.
