Theyr and AlbatrosDigital are partnering to integrate the high-fidelity vessel performance models of AlbatrosDigital into Theyr’s T.VOS (Theyr Voyage Optimisation Solution) platform. This gives Theyr customers access to vessel-specific routing decisions based on accurate, real-time fuel consumption under dynamic weather and sea conditions.
AlbatrosDigital is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and develops high-fidelity ship performance models for any seagoing vessel. These models enable better decisions, reduced fuel use, lower emissions, and greater efficiency throughout the sector.
UK-based Theyr is a maritime technology company delivering T.VOS. T.VOS claims to be the maritime industry’s first multi-objective voyage optimisation engine, capable of balancing speed, fuel use, emissions, arrival time, and commercial objectives such as Dynamic Charter Party Compliance, within a single computation.

Metocean data
The partnership marks a major step forward in Theyr’s evolution, combining AlbatrosDigital’s advanced models with T.VOS to deliver routing plans not just optimised against metocean data, but also tailored to the performance characteristics of each vessel.
AlbatrosDigital’s models accurately predict how a vessel will behave under any metocean condition. Fuel consumption is a key outcome, alongside metrics such as seakeeping performance. The models are flexible: they can be generated from as little as an IMO number or design specifications, and when available, enhanced with voyage records or high-frequency sensor data. This flexibility removes a major barrier to operational optimisation by giving the maritime industry reliable predictions regardless of the data sources available.

Smarter and more sustainable
‘Good partnerships drive real change,’ says Ilse Rodewijk, CEO of AlbatrosDigital. ‘By bringing our vessel models into Theyr’s optimisation platform, shipowners and operators gain the insights they need to make smarter, more sustainable decisions.’
Peter Mantel, CCO of Theyr, adds: ‘Accurate vessel performance models are the foundation of effective voyage optimisation. AlbatrosDigital’s capabilities align perfectly with our mission to deliver smarter, more sustainable voyage optimisation. Together, we’re ensuring our customers have access to the most precise and actionable vessel models available.’
The fully integration solution is available in Theyr T.VOS 1.23 release.
