Oceanco has purchased a business complex at Noordweg 15A in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands. The acquisition adds a site of approximately 13,400 m2 to its existing facilities at this location.

Oceanco is a Dutch superyacht builder with its headquarters in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands. In 2019, the company acquired the former Heerema Fabrication Group yard in Zwijndrecht after Heerema had to close the yard due to lack of orders. Oceanco uses this second yard for newbuilds, maintenance, refit and lifetime extension.

With this second acquisition in Zwijndrecht, Oceanco strategically expands its existing location in Zwijndrecht. The new site offers 12,659 m2 of business space, and includes an outdoor area of around 3600 m2. Originally built in 1960, the complex was previously used by De Groot Staalconstructies and was also known as the Army Cars Museum.

Oceanco looking to grow

Just last month, Oceanco fell under new ownership. Gabe Newell acquired the company from the Barwani family. This was followed by the acquisition of Alewijnse and now new facilities in Zwijndrecht. According the BRiQ, which commercially advised Oceanco in the acquisition in Zwijndrecht, the expansion marks the next step in Oceanco’s growth strategy.
