International consulting engineering company Royal HaskoningDHV has acquired Scotland-based maritime engineering company Arch Henderson. Together, the two companies want to focus on providing services to naval bases, among other things.

By bringing Arch Henderson onboard, Royal HaskoningDHV significantly strengthens its UK business to over 800-strong, with a market-leading position in maritime. The companies did not disclose financial information about this transaction.

As a company renowned for its quality and creativity, Arch Henderson will retain its brand name in the short-term, as part of Royal HaskoningDHV and will continue as a significant player in the Scottish market serving the ports and harbours from their offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Lerwick and Thurso.

Naval bases

Building on Arch Henderson’s track record on maritime defence infrastructure across the Clyde estate in the Glasgow area and Royal HaskoningDHV’s experience at Portsmouth and Devonport naval bases, the team can now jointly expand its specialist civil, structural and architectural services to naval bases in the UK and allied nations.
