Last week, Damen Yachting launched two new Amels Limited Editions superyachts: the 74-metre Amels 242 and the 60-metre Amels 200. With more than fifty Amels Limited Editions now at sea, this is the first time in the company’s history that two superyachts were launched on the same day.
The yachts are being built at Damen Yachting’s headquarters in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. According to the yacht builder, the yard is currently at full capacity, and these launches are making way for other projects.
The pair feature customised Amels Limited Editions exteriors by designer Tim Heywood. Owners can choose their own interiors. While unconnected, both owners opted to commission Winch Design for this. Once delivered, the superyachts will be used privately.

The eighth Amels 242
The owner of the just-launched 1790 GT Amels 242 opted for an eye-catching exterior colour scheme. The team landed on a flag blue hull and an oyster white superstructure with the various vertical lines and stretches of windows standing out in a dark grey colour. Winch Design took the blue exterior colourway and incorporated it into multiple elements throughout the interior.
Features include a dedicated owner’s Deck with a Jacuzzi, a large aft swimming pool, Lower Deck Wellness Space and flowing spaces. Up to twelve guests can stay in six staterooms and the yacht will have eighteen crew plus captain.
It will be the eighth Amels 242 and it will be delivered on 1st June 2024.

The fourth Amels 200
As an evolution of the Amels 188, the 1015 GT Amels 200 is a popular ocean-going platform. The owner of the fourth Amels 200 superyacht chose for an adapted layout, which includes an additional balcony to the main deck and exterior bars on every deck. The yacht has a customised Whisper Grey hull – a colour that is subtly repeated in the exterior curves and arches, particularly around the superstructure.
The Amels 200 can accommodate twelve guests and twelve crew plus captain. The Amels 200 will also be delivered in 2024, but Damen has not yet revealed a date.
