There doesn’t seem to be much of a holiday break at Damen Yachting this summer. Within a month, the company laid the keel of the first Amels 80 in Galati, launched the second Amels 60 in the Netherlands and delivered an Amels Custom 78.

The Amels 80 is the newest creation in the Amels Limited Editions line, available for delivery in Spring 2025. The hull is being built at the yacht builder’s yard in Galati. The Amels 8001 is 80 metres in length (261 ft) with exteriors by Espen Øino and interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture. It can accommodate fourteen guests and offers space for twenty crew.

‘Every new yacht challenges us to push the limits of our absolute mastery,’ says Adriaan Roose, Product Manager Amels. ‘Decades of Amels pedigree, experience and knowhow have fed the creation of the Amels 80.’

Amels 60 launched

The second Amels 60, known as Project Witchcraft, has emerged from the Amels and Damen Yachting drydock in the Netherlands. It marks the start of the final build phase ahead of delivery in autumn this year.

Outfitting has been ongoing over the last twelve months since arriving in Vlissingen for outfitting. The 60-metre yacht features a bright and light colour scheme and a notable change to the exterior styling of the signature windows, customised to meet the owner’s requirements.

Amels 6002’s customised windows are part of Damen’s innovative build approach, which maximises customisation opportunity whilst still providing fast delivery, a proven technical platform and tried and tested naval architecture and sea-keeping capabilities.

Espen Øino provided the exterior design. With a GT of 830, it accommodates twelve guests and twelve crew. It features hybrid power and propulsion technology. There is an emphasis on space throughout with the large sun deck, swim platform and folding owner’s suite balcony and even space for a 9-metre luxury tender to be stowed on the foredeck.
