There doesn’t seem to be much of a holiday break at Damen Yachting this summer. Within a month, the company laid the keel of the first Amels 80 in Galati, launched the second Amels 60 in the Netherlands and delivered an Amels Custom 78.
The Amels 80 is the newest creation in the Amels Limited Editions line, available for delivery in Spring 2025. The hull is being built at the yacht builder’s yard in Galati. The Amels 8001 is 80 metres in length (261 ft) with exteriors by Espen Øino and interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture. It can accommodate fourteen guests and offers space for twenty crew.
This future proof yacht will be built with sustainable materials and leverage the most suitable and innovative hybrid technology today. The 2175 GT yacht features the largest top deck in its class as well as an impressive beach club.
‘Every new yacht challenges us to push the limits of our absolute mastery,’ says Adriaan Roose, Product Manager Amels. ‘Decades of Amels pedigree, experience and knowhow have fed the creation of the Amels 80.’
Amels 60 launched
The second Amels 60, known as Project Witchcraft, has emerged from the Amels and Damen Yachting drydock in the Netherlands. It marks the start of the final build phase ahead of delivery in autumn this year.
Outfitting has been ongoing over the last twelve months since arriving in Vlissingen for outfitting. The 60-metre yacht features a bright and light colour scheme and a notable change to the exterior styling of the signature windows, customised to meet the owner’s requirements.
Amels 6002’s customised windows are part of Damen’s innovative build approach, which maximises customisation opportunity whilst still providing fast delivery, a proven technical platform and tried and tested naval architecture and sea-keeping capabilities.
Espen Øino provided the exterior design. With a GT of 830, it accommodates twelve guests and twelve crew. It features hybrid power and propulsion technology. There is an emphasis on space throughout with the large sun deck, swim platform and folding owner’s suite balcony and even space for a 9-metre luxury tender to be stowed on the foredeck.
Amels Custom 78 delivered
The Amels Custom 78 has departed the Damen Yachting shipyard in Vlissingen following delivery to its owner. This 78-metre Amels Full Custom embodies the realisation of the owner’s yachting vision. With a GT of 2885, it features an exterior design by Espen Øino whose team also developed the general arrangement.
Zuretti Interior Designers are the studio behind the custom interiors. This Amels Full Custom benefits from a number of standout features such as a large open top deck, large aft pool and very wide side decks that can be utilised as private guest balconies.
The sale of the Amels Custom 78 was confirmed during the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show. The yacht has been located at the Amels facilities in Vlissingen since 2020 and is the first Amels Full Custom to be delivered by Damen Yachting since the introduction of the yacht builder’s Limited Editions concept was introduced in 2005.
