Lloyd's Register (LR) has started work with AkerBP for maintenance optimisation of its Skarv FPSO infrastructure and equipment on a test project in Norway.
LR is using its RTAMO software to support AkerBP in trying to optimise maintenance activities in terms of criticality and cost.
RTAMO
RTAMO (Real-Time Adaptive Maintenance Optimisation) is a standalone cloud-based software-enabled service that is based on a detailed development initiative, that culminated in establishing predictive algorithms linking planned maintenance to economic and reliability outcomes. RTAMO uses data to optimise inspection and maintenance intervals to avoid unnecessary maintenance and inspection as well as avoid production shutdown due to equipment failure. The software is said to have achieved up to a 40% reduction in operational maintenance expenditure for certain operators.
It is the first time RTAMO software is used on fixed facilities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
