A pilot was seen boarding a cargo ship in icy conditions.
The pilot boards the ship near the coast of Hailuoto, Finland. The ship was travelling to the port of Oulu. At the moment, the ice was 20" thick.
The ro-ro cargo ship Tavastland (lenght o.a. 190.79 m, beam 26,44 m, 15,960 mt dwt) sails under Swedish flag and is owned by SOL Continent Line.
