Subsea managed to obtain two contracts this week, one in Nigeria and one in the UK, while the company also completed its acquisition of Siem Offshore Contractors.

Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPN) contracted Subsea 7 for the Production Uplift Pipeline Projects (PUPP) in shallow water, offshore Nigeria.

The contract scope includes engineering, construction, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of 20 km of 24" Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) pipeline between the Idoho Platform and the terminal onshore and of 2 km of 24" CRA pipeline between the Edop and Idoho Platforms, as well as associated topside modifications and tie-ins at both ends.

Engineering and procurement will start immediately at NigerStar 7's offices in Lagos, while offshore operations will take place from Q3 2018 to Q1 2019, using the Subsea 7 vessel, Seven Antares.

The contract is said to be worth between USD 150-300 million.

UK Contract for BP

At the same time, BP hired Subsea 7 for the provision of EPCI flowline supply and subsea installation services for the Alligin subsea development project, located approximately 140 km west of the Shetland Islands. 

The contract scope includes project management, engineering, procurement, construction and installation of a subsea tie-back to the existing Schiehallion area infrastructure.

Project management and engineering work will commence immediately at Subsea 7's office in Aberdeen. Offshore activities will take place in 2019 using Subsea 7's reel-lay vessel, Seven Oceans.

The contract is said to be worth between USD 50-150 million.

Siem Offshore Contractors Take-over

Subsea 7 completed its acquisition of Siem Offshore Contractors GmbH and two vessels, the inter-array cable lay vessel Siem Aimery and the support vessel Siem Moxie, from the Siem Offshore Group. On completion, Siem Offshore Contractors became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Subsea 7 Group.
