Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD) and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Group have signed an agreement to integrate their digital technologies to provide greater insight into engine and ship data.
Through providing shipping companies with extensive digital knowledge the ship’s operational cost is to be reduced. In addition, the data is to provide insight on how to operate the ship and its engine more efficiently.
Engine Diagnostic System
WinGD developed the Engine Diagnostic System (EDS) to create valuable insight from engine and ship data. The EDS provides continuous intelligent-diagnostics of the engine and component performance. This allows a ship’s operator to be alerted prior to an alarm signal with the goal of scheduling necessary maintenance to improve safety and to avoid unscheduled engine interruptions.
Integrict-Smart Ship Solution
In 2017, Hyundai Heavy Industries Group presented the Integrict-Smart Ship (ISS) solution meant to realise economical and reliable navigation and management of ships. The solution standardises ways of navigation depending on levels of skills and experiences of navigators, collects and analyses real-time information on navigations, thereby playing a role in enhancing efficiency and safety of ships.
The collaboration between HHI Group and WinGD combines the HHI Integrict-Smart Ship Solution with the smart engine diagnostics from the WinGD EDS.
