After it was the largest capacity vessel to transit the Expanded Locks of the Panama Canal so far, the 14,414-teu CMA CGM Theodore Roosevelt was also the largest ship yet to go under the "raised" Bayonne Bridge.

The Port of New York and New Jersey recently completed a four year, $1.6 billion project to raise the Bayonne Bridge to 215 ft allowing the port to accept ships larger than 9500 TEU to reach three of its four main terminals.

With its 14,414 teu, the CMA CGM Theodore Roosevelt is the largest containership to call the port of New York and New Jersey when it arrived at the APM Terminals Elizabeth container terminal on 7 September. It is also the largest vessel to pass under the raised roadbed of the Bayonne Bridge, which vessels up to 18,000 teu can now pass.

The video by John Snyder below shows the ship passing the bridge. The picture at the top is a still from the same video.
