The largest port operator of the United Kingdom, Associated British Ports (ABP) has taken delivery of marine, crane and truck simulators.
These simulators are for ABP’s maritime and logistics training facility in Immingham.
Modal, with which ABP has a partnership, earlier this year opened the facility, which is owned by the professional training school Grimsby Institute. Training simulators were set up at the Modal Training Complex near the Port of Immingham, the UK's largest port by tonnage, handling around 55 million tonnes.
The marine, crane and HGV simulators allow employers to train workers, develop teams and test processes. Trainees can develop skills and acquire experience, for example in stevedoring. They can also receive training in Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and forklift driving.
