The Dutch court has granted Groningen-based Central Industry Group (CIG) deferred payment.
The group is active in maritime industry and architecture and the maritime part is struggling due to the ongoing crisis in shipping and shipbuilding. The company announced it was unable to meet its obligations this past Monday, 21 November.
CIG has subsidiaries in the Netherlands, among which CIG Shipbuilding, Germany and China and employs approximately 500 people. According to Dutch media, several companies have shown interest in taking over the company's subsidiaries, which could mean the existing jobs may be saved.
