This year, Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) received a record number of entries for its Maritime Innovation Award: nineteen. From these, a shortlist of four was chosen by the award jury.

De Waal BV, Tideman Boats BV, IHC IQIP and Van Oord have been selected to present their innovations to the jury at NMT's headquarters on 2 September. From these four entries, the nominees will be selected.

The Shortlist

The shortlist consists of the following four entries:

  • De Waal BV – Easyflow, fuel saving rudder for inland shipping
  • IHC IQIP – FIT’s integrated system for positioning and installing monopiles for offshore wind farms
  • Tideman Boats BV – Fast sailing HDPE-workboats
  • Van Oord – Strategic partnership Van Oord Fleet

Maritime Innovation Award

The Maritime Innovation Award stimulates innovative developments in maritime industry and puts the innovative force of the Dutch maritime and offshore suppliers in the spotlights. Every Dutch company, which has recently delivered a new product, service or process for the maritime industry, can enter for the award.

Maritime Awards Gala

The Maritime Innovation Award 2016 will be presented at the Maritime Awards Gala along with four other maritime awards: the KNVTS Ship of the Year Award, the KVNR Shipping Award, the Maritime Designer Award and the Royal Netherlands Navy Van Hengel-Spengler Award. This year, the Maritime Awards Gala takes place at Studio 21 in Hilversum on 31 October.
