(With videos) The KVNR Shipping Award jury has nominated two candidates in the category of social, environmental and shipping innovations for the KVNR Shipping Award 2016.
The KVNR will announce the winnner at the eleventh edition of the Maritime Awards Gala, which takes place 31 October at Studio 21 in Hilversum, the Netherlands.
The nominees are:
Emergency Control – Maritime Training BV is nominated for its Med-Assist, Vital Medical Skills – Instantly. An online maritime tool that helps to perform necessary medical treatments onboard. With Med Assist, crew members are able to learn medical procedures quickly and onboard.
The jury also nominated the combined entry of Holland America Line and Csmart with the MV Koningsdam/new Csmart "Arison Maritime Center". The new Center for Simulator Maritime Training in Almere, the Netherlands, is modelled after the bridge of the Koningsdam. Personnel can train on among others four full-missiom bridge simulators and four engine room simulators.
