Iran, currently the place to be. As sanctions have been lifted, Iran has become a hot topic within the offshore energy industry.
The country boasts seventy per cent of the world’s total oil reservoirs and forty per cent of the world’s gas resources. Furthermore, Iran holds the largest hydrocarbon reservoirs in the world and 9.3 per cent of the world’s total gas reserves, making the country the alternative gas-supplier to Europe.
To tap this potential, a large investment of around 185 billion dollars is required within the next five years, to allow for fleet renovation, already announced by the Iranian government, as well as technological innovation and solutions.
Iran Pavilion during OEEC
The Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) has announced a cooperation with CBC, an independent consultancy firm liaising between Europe and Iran by providing in-depth market intelligence and strategic advice for oil & gas projects, and as such the development of the Iran Pavilion as well as technical conference sessions focused on Iran.
Following the Tehran Oil Show 2016, where Mr. Kamp, Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, visited CBC, the organisation is now promoting OEEC 2016 and as a great opportunity for Iranian Offshore companies to join the "Iran Pavilion" at the Amsterdam RAI. CBC spoke to Mr. Kamp about this joint programme and how valuable it is for Dutch offshore companies. The NIOC (National Iran Oil Company) and affiliated offshore companies of NIOC have been invited by CBC to OEEC 2016.
