Roel de Graaf (58) will take on the position of Managing Director of Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) on 1 July 2016.

With his extensive knowledge of the maritime market and managerial experience with NMT, the Board sees De Graaf as the ideal successor to Peter Zoeteman, who served as Managing Director of the trade association from May 2013 to June 2016.

Hans Voorneveld, chairman of NMT: 'Roel is a passionate shipbuilder who has worked for both yards and marine equipment suppliers. He will lead the NMT organisation in tackling the challenges faced by our sector and the NMT board has complete confidence that it has found the right candidate to take over the position currently held by Zoeteman.'

Curriculum Vitae

After completing his shipbuilding studies at the higher technical college in Dordrecht, De Graaf worked at various yards. In the early 1980s he took on his first managerial position at Shipyard De Haas and later held management functions at companies such as Vahali, IHC Metalix and IHC Interior & Piping. From June 2014 to June 2016, De Graaf was Chief Operating Officer at CIG NV.

While acting as Managing Director at IHC Metalix, De Graaf was on the board of the Holland Marine Equipment Association from 2002 to 2005. Since May 2015 he has represented CIG NV on the board of NMT.

Hello and Goodbye

An extra NMT network meeting will be held on 31 August to allow members and relations to welcome De Graaf and say farewell to current Managing Director Zoeteman. More information is available through NMT (Dutch only).
