(With extra pictures and video) Today, the Koningsdam arrived at the Rotterdam city centre for its christening ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, 20 May.
The Koningsdam is now docked at the Wilhelminapier, Cruiseport Rotterdam. Tomorrow, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands will perform the christening ceremony after which the vessel will continue its journey to Amsterdam and then on for a cruise of the Norwegian fjords.
The Koningsdam is the first ship in Holland America Line's new Pinnacle Class. It measures 297 metres in length and is 35 metres wide. With a tonnage of 99,500, the new cruise ship can accommodate 2650 passengers and over 1000 crew.
