The Aida Prima will be the first cruise ship in the world to be supplied with LNG in port.

Shell and Aida Cruises signed and agreement to this end on 19 April. As an exclusive partner, Shell will supply LNG to both the AidaPrima and its sister vessel currently still under construction, the AidaPerla. This will significantly reduce emissions when the ships are in port.

The Aida Prima can be supplied with LNG in all ports during its cruises depending on port infrastructure. Preparations and approval procedures are currently under way in the ports of Hamburg, Southampton, Le Havre, Rotterdam and Zeebrugge. The cruise ships will receive LNG from trucks.

First tests with LNG supply in port are scheduled for the coming weeks.
