The regions of Southeast Asia, the Gulf of Mexico and the Arabian Gulf have been chosen as the new "maritime hotspots". Brazil will remain a focus area as well.

The hotspots were chosen at the "The Next Maritime Hotspots" conference organised by Maritime by Holland ("Nederland Maritiem Land") and the Dutch Top Sector Water

The focus countries were ranked as follows: Indonesia, the Arabian Gulf and Iran, the United States/Houston, Brazil, Mexico, China, Singapore and Malaysia. This ranking was decided on after an inquiry prior to the conference and a vote among conference participants.

Action Plan

Maritime by Holland's Trade Council will develop an action plan together with the Top Sector Water for the three hotspots. Important for this programme of activities are a better promotion of the Dutch product, more insight into the markets, structural monitoring of trade missions and developing bilateral cooperation programmes.
