To stimulate the development of clean and efficient inland vessels, Marin and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment will offer five inland shipping entrepreneurs the opportunity to improve their new vessel concept at very low cost.
Through the use of empirical and mathematical models, Marin can optimise the hull form so that ships use less fuel and cut emissions while maintaining their cargo capacity.
Through the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, Marin can offer five entrepreneurs an optimisation project for a new to be built ship for just 4000 euros, instead of 15,000 euros. The project "Binnenvaart 5 keer beter" (inland shipping five times better) will be launched at the Shipping-Technics-Logistics-trade fair at Kalkar, Germany.
Interested parties can enter until the end of December 2016. Additional information and terms and conditions can be found at the Marin website (information in Dutch).
