For five days, Amsterdam was the nautical centre of the world. Almost 2.3 million people visited this edition of Sail.
Although the Tall Ships are and will remain at the core of Sail Amsterdam, new elements have made the event more meaningful. The event focused on both past en future and gave hundreds of young people a taste of the possible nautical careers.
The crowd control system and strictly regulated access to the Oranjehaven have ensured that there was a steady and disciplined flow on the water and on the quay.
The next edition of Sail Amsterdam will take place in August 2020.
