Nominations are now invited for the inaugural Boat Builder Awards for Business Achievement, organised jointly by IBI and Metstrade.

Visitors to the Awards’ new dedicated website Boatbuilderawards.com can nominate for any of the six Awards by following the quick and easy online process.

The Awards categories are:

  • Retail marketing initiative
  • International distributor/dealer development
  • Boatbuilder and equipment manufacturer collaborative solution
  • Innovative onboard design solution
  • Innovation in a production process
  • Lifetime achievement award

Online Poll

Judging for the Awards, to take place on November 18 during Mets, will be based on nominations submitted via Boatbuilderawards.com, followed by an online poll to determine the shortlisted candidates in each of the six award categories. This poll will result in three shortlisted entries per category, which will then be scrutinised by an international panel of seven judges chaired by John Maxey, a senior board partner of Deloitte of London.

The nomination process is designed to encourage the maximum number of entries, with the subsequent online poll providing industry peers with the opportunity to express their opinion prior to the impartial panel of judges choosing the winners.

Nominations Open Until 31 August

Nominations can be submitted until 31 August. The online poll to determine the shortlist will take place in September with the resulting shortlist being presented to the judges for their adjudication in early October. The shortlisted entries will be notified to the companies concerned in September, when they will be invited to attend the gala dinner and awards presentation in the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam on 18 November.
