(With video) Due to a combination of functions and new techniques, the Kroonborg has unique characteristics. So unique, that the ship now has its own documentary.
A motion compensated Ampelmann gangway system, the world’s first heave compensated Barge Master T40 crane, DP2 system, Voith Schneider Propellers and bow thrusters, chemical supply and Cold start-up unit, 500 m2 free deck space, a fast rescue craft, daughter craft and accommodation facilities for 60 people on board.
One by one essential features which are pretty common for an offshore vessel, but Walk2Work vessel Kroonborg combines them in one single design.
NAM and Shell UK combined their forces with Royal Wagenborg and shipyard Royal Niestern Sander, which resulted in the world’s first maintenance support walk to work vessel.
