A new reactor for Alfa Laval's PureBallast system now makes it available to smaller vessels.

Just as the larger versions, the new Alfa Laval PureBallast can operate in fresh, brackish, marine water or low-clarity water with just 42% UV transmittance. The new smaller version was submitted for USCG approval in March 2015 and can now be used in systems for flows of 87 m3/h.

New Reactor

The lower capacities are enabled by a new reactor, optimised for system sizes from 170 m3/h down to 87 m3/h. This is a major expansion of the PureBallast family, where a 250 m3/h system was previously the smallest available. The reactor is built with SMO steel for a long and corrosion-free life.
