Once again, Dutch companies offering an innovative maritime product, process or service can enter for a chance to win the Maritime Innovation Award.

Both winning and being nominated guarantee (inter)national publicity. Every year, the Maritime Innovation Award is presented at the Maritime Awards Gala.

Criteria

The jury applies a wide interpretation of innovation. Apart from product and service innovations, the ever more important innovations in company processes are also eligible. Minimum requirement for each submission is that it generates demonstrable Dutch added value.

The winning entry must be applied in practice, at least once been sold to a relevant market party and must meet the following criteria:

  • broad applicability within the maritime sector;
  • must be easy to sell; and
  • offer sufficient export potential.

The jury, consisting of experts from the shipping, shipbuilding, maritime service, offshore and maritime research sectors, will judge the entries and will draw up a shortlist of nominations in September.

Entering

Every Dutch company that has recently delivered a new product, service or process to the maritime industry can enter by filling out the form on the Netherlands Maritime Technology website. All entries need to be received by Friday 15 May.

The last several years, the award was won by companies such as Dynamic Marine Systems Holland, Kranendonk Production Systems, Huisman, IHC Merwede and Ampelmann Operations.
