Harold W.M. Linssen, Port Personality of the Year 2014, will perform the official opening of the Navingo Maritime & Offshore Career Event 2015 on Wednesday 22 April.
On 12 January, Harold Linssen was appointed Port Personality of the Year 2014. In his speech, during the awarding of this title, he underlined the importance of the connection between the industry, education and its students. Most students still have a blurred vision when it comes to choosing a career: which choices have to be made, which roads have to be taken to fulfil your ambitions? Harold Linssen, who is also Managing Director of Keppel Verolme BV, advocates a better bridge between the industry and the education system.
Official Opening Programme
The official opening of MOCE2015 will take place at 11 am in the Rotterdam Hall of the World Trade Centre in Rotterdam. After a short word of welcome, Harold Linssen will traditionally open the exhibition by ringing the ship’s bell. The exhibition will be open for visitors at 10.30 am.
Oasis of the Seas
Keppel Verolme welcomed the Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world. It was a unique opportunity for Keppel Verolme, and also for several students who were able to work on the Oasis of the Seas thanks to Keppel Verolme’s schooling programme. This program allows a select group of young people the opportunity to learn and develop their skills at this leading ship and offshore yard.
