Compagnie Maritime Monégasque (CMM) has recently secured contracts with Petrobras Brazil to charter five new-build fast Oil Spill Response Vessels (OSRVs) with a new Damen axe-bow design.
Through the use of the new Sea Axe design, the vessel can reach offshore oil platforms in half the time it takes traditional OSRVs. The vessels have unrivalled speed, stability and operability in deep seas.
Three vessels will start operating by the end of December 2015 and two by the end of June 2016. The four-year firm contract has a value of $130 million and is mutually extendable for a further four-year term. Damen will build all five vessels.
