Double D Marine Equipment introduces a constant tension winch system with electronic control. An electronically controlled winch is less expensive and less prone to hydraulic system failure.
A constant tension winch system is used to achieve a constant line-pull and prevents slack ropes. This prevents loads bouncing on decks. Yet, its main purpose is to protect crane operators from injury during crane operations at sea. The systems are specially designed for ship-to-ship transfer of goods, for lifting floating objects and various offshore activities.
Electronic Control System
The electronic control system requires considerably less force and saves on oil as it does not need a large power pack. The compact control system is fully integrated into the crane and does not affect operations. Operation is integrated into a remote control making it easy to handle.
With minimal adjustments, Double D can also convert existing winches to an electronically controlled one.
The first cranes with an electronically controlled constant tension winch have successfully been tested and delivered. New orders are underway.
