As the trade organisations HME and VNSI have all blended into Netherlands Maritime Technology, the names of the awards of these organisations have also been changed.
From now on, Netherlands Maritime Technology will award the Maritime Innovation Award and the Wim Timmers Designer's Award. This year, the awards will once again be presented at the Maritime Awards Gala, which takes place 6 November at Taets in Zaandam, the Netherlands.
Maritime Innovation Award
The Maritime Innovation Award stimulates innovative developments in maritime industry and puts the innovative force of the Dutch maritime and offshore suppliers in the spotlights. Every Dutch company, which has recently delivered a new product, service or process for the maritime industry, can enter for the award (until 30 June).
Wim Timmers Designer's AwardOntwerpersprijs
The Wim Timmers Designer's Award ("Ontwerpersprijs") focuses on the creativity and innovation of Dutch maritime designers. The award is aimed at the way a ship design (or an installation on board a ship) comes into being.
For 2014, four designers have been selected to present their entry at the Designers Congress which takes place 4 June at the TU Delft. Immediately after, two nominees will be announced.
