Amongst others, SWZ Maritime's May issue features the first of two articles by prof. Lex Keuning from the TU Delft on the design of the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution's (KNRM) new lifeboat, the NH 1816.
The NH 1816 came into being through cooperation between the Delft University of Technology, Marin, Damen Shipyards and the KNRM. The design process as well as the tests conducted will all be discussed in the article.
Other Articles
In addition, the May issue also includes articles on the use of FMB simulations for offshore projects, fuel savings in fishing, how the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) was adjusted to be a fair index for general cargo ships and spudpoles for inland shipping.
