The second of the nineteen sponsons has been successfully installed. Divers are now continuing preparatory work on the Costa Concordia to be ready to proceed with operations as soon as the necessary authorisations arrive.

Last week, the salvage opration was suspended as authorities requested more information about the transportation of the wreck and which port will eventually scrap the wreck.

According to the companies involved, technicians are finalising the requested documentation, which will be delivered according to the schedule indicated by the authorities. After which, they hope to receive the necessary authorisation to continue the refloating process.
