SWZ Maritime's November issue contains the winners and nominees of the Maritime Awards Gala as well as a photo impression of the event. Other articles include topics such as Van Oossanen's Hull Vane and Shell's Prelude FLNG.

The Italian Ministry of Transport has released a report on the Costa Concordia accident. The report highlights many problems including with emergency power generation. The Marine Engineers Review has discussed these findings extensively and, with permission, this article has been republished in SWZ Maritime.

Furthermore, the November issue features an article on the Fast conference to take place in the Netherlands 2 to 5 December, interviews with TU Delft professor Hans Hopman and the new small and medium enterprises' consultant Sanne de Vleeschhouwer, a report of the smart terminals conference organised by Management Producties and a history of beam trawl fishing.

'The Situation Is Alarming'

In SWZ's September issue, professor Sjoerd Hengst questioned the greenhouse gas effect in his article: 'CO2, a little more please?' (this article was published in Dutch). Professor Hans Nibbering disagreed with his findings and sent in a reaction, which has been published in the November issue.
