Feadship has unveiled its latest Future Concept at the Monaco Yacht Show. The concept was created with two hypothetical owners in mind, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.
As is customary for this annual prototype, Feadship Royale has been designed with the next generation of superyacht owners in mind. In this case, the design team tried to create a yacht that would suit King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima: majestic and modest; glamorous yet practically minded.
The new Future Concept has two distinct purposes: a home-away-from-home and a way of showcasing Dutch industry via hosting trade missions around the globe.
All-Glass Superstructure
Feadship has chosen an all-glass superstructure, combined with all-glass façade wraps and a lot of glass in the hull that is all technically possible. The yacht has a low open aft deck with a wraparound swim platform where private tenders can moor alongside. The owners’ apartment is situated forward on the main deck, featuring a lounge and four staterooms.
IMO Tier III and EPA Tier 4i
Electrical power comes from two medium-speed 2000kW diesel generators. It would meet the IMO Tier III and EPA Tier 4i regulations – due to come into force in 2020 – without requiring after-gas treatment.
