Personnel from a distribution company at the Maasvlakte, Rotterdam, has found three bags of cocaine in a container carrying cranberries.

The bags contained 106 packages containing 1 kg cocaine each.

Container from Chile

The container with cranberries came from Chile and arrived in the port of Rotterdam on 19 September after which the container was transported to the distribution company. The personnel there found the drugs on Friday morning.

The cocaine, worth at least € 3 million, has been destroyed. The HARC-team Rotterdam, a cooperation between port police, customs, FIOD and the public prosecutor's office will conduct an investigation into the origin of the drugs and the persons involved.
