Marin has launched a new initiative which will allow Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to test innovative maritime concepts in the Marin Concept Basin free of charge.
Each year Marin will offer six free basin slots of two weeks (eighty basin hours including one qualified test engineer) to SME clients to stimulate innovation in the Dutch maritime sector and to lower the threshold for SMEs to test their new ideas/concepts.
Feasibility Checks
These tests allow feasibility checks and improvements in an early phase of new concept developments (they are not meant as final or formal tests of a design, or for optimisation of existing designs).
Basin Time and Workshop
Beside the basin time, it includes a one day workshop with the Marin Project Manager and Project Engineer. This total offer represents a value of € 40,000 per client and is a Marin offer to its clients (not a governmental subsidy). Clients are able to bring in their own models, but the resaerch institute can also assist in model making and instrumentation (at normal rates).
