Advanfort, a private maritime security provider, has opened a new office in Hamburg, Germany, and is expanding its services in Southeast Asia to address the increasing piracy threat in the region.
Company President William H. Watson pointed out that the Hamburg office should improve the service level for European clients and allows for real-time, face-to-face meetings to discuss critical issues.
Piracy on the Rise in Southeast Asia
The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) has reported that Southeast Asia is the region reporting the highest number of pirate attacks. Therefore, Advanfort has formed a new sales team in the Asia market to address this threat in addition to opening offices in Tokyo, Singapore, and Seoul.
The company is also stepping up efforts to deliver a wide range of maritime security services to ports and vessels in the increasingly troubled Gulf of Guinea and has also opened an office in Istanbul, Turkey.
