The third edition of the Dutch Maritime Week focuses on the innovative and sustainable character of maritime industry as well as its strong trade position.

The Maritime Week 2013 takes place 31 October to 9 November. The start is at the Maritime Awards Gala on Thursday 31 October at the “Broodfabriek” in Rijswijk.

Inspiring Young People to Choose a Maritime Career

During the Maritime Week activities are organised across the country aimed at young people, maritime companies, politicians and the public in general. As during the last edition, the event hopes to inspire young people to choose a career in maritime industry by organising as many maritime guest lectures as possible.

Maritime Hotspots and Europort

At several activities, the progress of the Maritime Hotspots project and examples of innovative maritime research will be discussed. The government will be invited to visit several maritime organisations. Where possible, a link will be forged with activities that take place during Europort (5-8 November in Ahoy, Rotterdam).

Sector Wide

Nederland Maritiem Land (NML) is working on the programme. Maritime companies and organisations are invited to organise activities and open days during the Maritime Week.

Register for Maritime Guest Lectures

In one week, the goal is to organise at least 300 guest lectures across the country, a record attempt. Whether the record was achieved or not will be announced on 8 November during “Future Pioneers” at Europort.

To organise a guest lecture, please contact Linda te Veldhuis, Holland Shipbuilding Association, lve@scheepsbouw.nl.
