45 foreign maritime engineering students and seven professors are coming to Delft, the Netherlands for the European Maritime Student Associations Conference 2013, or Emsac 2013.

The conference takes place from 5 to 9 June. Students will get to know maritime engineering, Dutch students and each other. The students and professors will come from all over Europe: Germany, Schotland, Finland, Turkey and Russia. During the conference different activities take place that introduce the Dutch maritime world in general and show similarities and differences between maritime companies, the studies and life in the different countries.

Froude Restores Emsac

The first Emsac took place in 1992. Many conferences followed the first one, the last one was in 2006. The 109th board of S.G. "William froude", the student association of maritime engineering in Delft, wanted to restore this tradition in its former glory and therefore decided to organise the EMSAC in 2013.

Support from Maritime Companies

To realise this plan, a special EMSAC-committee was formed consisting of Jeanine Oudshoorn, Martijn Obers, Anne Kleijn, Stan Hoog en Moos Meijer. They have put together a varied programme and invited students and professors from all over Euorpe. Those invitations were met with a lot of enthusiasm. They are not the only ones who are enthusiastic about the event though: support from Dutch maritime companies, in the form of IHC Merwede, Bureau vertias, C-JOB and Shipbuilder software, was also overwhelming.

Emsac Programme
