(With photo album) In "Maand Maritiem" in SWZ Maritime's May issue, SWZ editor Gerrit de Boer once again provides an extensive overview of the latest contracts, keel layings, launches and deliveries.
In this edition amongst others the delivery of the Artemis, the tenders Hercules and Lynx and Damen's Twin Axe Fast Crew Suppliers 2610. With this news post some extra pictures of these ships.
Artemis
The selfpropelled cutter suction dredger Artemis was delivered to CSD Artemis (Van Oord) on 3 April. Together with the Athena, the ship is the largest Dutch built cutter suction dredger built for a Dutch client.
The pictures of the Artemis below were taken in and around Rotterdam by René van der Kloet.
Hercules and Lynx
On 10 april ice skating coach Marianne Timmer and NOC*NSF president Erica Terpstra christened the new tenders for the Loodswezen, the Hercules and Lynx. The steel Hercules can sail under ice conditions and will be deployed in the northern area of the Netherlands. The aluminium jet driven tender Lynx is the first in a new series of the L-class and will be deployed in all Dutch sea ports. In total, the Loodswezen has ordered five tenders with Barkmeijer Stroobos (two steel, three aluminium) for their fleet renewal programme.
The pictures of the Hercules and Lynx were taken by Gerrit de Boer.
Twin Axe Fast Crew Suppliers 2610
Damen Shipyards introduced the Twin Axe Fast Crew Supplier 2610 in June 2010 and it proved a successful design for the offshore wind industry. Within 2.5 years, Damen has deleivered fourteen of these vessels, amongst others to MCS, MarineCo, Offshore Wind Assistance, SeaZip Offshore Service and Marcon Gruppen I Sverige.
The pictures in the album below are of different FCSs and were supplied by Damen Shipyards.
