Two large players in Dutch inland shipping will join forces to develop the small-scale LNG market. This is the first big step in transporting and bunkering LNG by inland water ways.
The new cooperation will be announced on 29 May at 3 pm at the Construction & Shipping Industry tade fair in Gorinchem, the Netherlands at stand 422 of the Veka Group. There, the new innovative design for the first LNG inland tanker will also be revealed.
Veka Group was the first Dutch shipyard to build an ocean going LNG tanker propelled by LNG (Pioneer Knutsen). An inland LNG tanker seems the next logical step.
