The J Class Rainbow has won a Neptune trophy in the Sailing Yachts 39M+ category at the World Superyacht Awards.
The owner of Rainbow, along with Tako van Ineveld, Commercial Director at Holland Jachtbouw, Jeroen de Vos from Dykstra Naval Architects and Michiel de Vos from DeVosDeVries Design were presented with the trophy last Saturday 11 May, which has become synonymous with excellence in superyacht build and design.
Oscars of the Superyacht Industry
Hosted by Boat International and held once again at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul, the ceremony – dubbed the Oscars of the superyacht industry, was attended by an elite guest list of international superyacht owners and the most influential players in the industry.
Hybrid Propulsion
For the Rainbow, the engineering team has developed a unique Hybrid Propulsion System to meet the owner’s specifications for an environmentally friendly yacht which will hopefully lead the way in the future of superyachts. This hybrid propulsion system was extensively discussed in SWZ Maritime's July/August edition 2012, pp 30-33.
