As of 1 August Mieke Bakker-Mantjes will resign from her position as general manager of the Holland Shipbuilding Association.
After intensive deliberation over the past few weeks between Bakker-Mantjes and the presidents of the VNSI, HME and the Holland Shipbuilding Association, they could not reach agreement on the further interpretation of the general manager position.
No Agreement on Further Fusion
In particular, the parties could not agree on a further fusion of the organisations and the practical development of this. For the general manager this was a crucial point to be able to function. This made her decide to resign from her position in August, when her two year contract ends. Announcing her decision now, gives the board the chance to start looking for a successor to warrant continuity.
Many Changes
Over the past one and a half years a lot of changes took place, such as the move of the Holland Shipbuilding Association, CMTI and HMe to the Willemswerf in Rotterdam, a further integration of these organisations, the creation of the strategic report "Nu doorpakken!", the continuation of "Nederland Maritiem Land" and efforts in Europe. Bakker-Mantjes: 'I will continue my tasks as general manager in good conscience until a replacement is found. In the meantime, I will also look for a new challenge.'
Sjef van Dooremalen, president of the Holland Shipbuilding Association: 'We would like to thank her for the work she has done for the Holland Shipbuilding Association. Especially for the way she realised the combination of the Zoetermeer and Rotterdam offices at the Willemswerf.'
