The exhibition "Topmodels" at the Maritime Museum Rotterdam displays a selection which represents the pinnacle of model making. They are chosen for the story they tell, their unique design and/or their outstanding construction style. On Thursday 13 December curator Wouter Heijveld and General Manager Frits Loomeijer will give a guided tour of and lecture on the exhibition.

The Maritime Museum Rotterdam has been collecting model ships since the day it opened in 1874. The collection is one of the best in the world, contains more than 1500 models, and spans seven centuries. It contains a large part of the ship types which have been used for hundreds of years in the Netherlands: from ornamental models for the director's office to towing tank models for testing.
